James joined the Phoenix Players in 2003 to play a small role at short notice He quickly became a full member and has since appeared in several shows. He has also directed some of the most recent major shows including The Wizard of Oz which he says was a major project.The first play he directed was Cash On Delivery in 2004.
He completed a personal goal in 2005 by directing his favourite show ‘Noises Off’ at the Theatre Royal in Lincoln. This was a massive project with a very complex set. Due to casting issues, James also played the main role of Lloyd in this production which he says was both rewarding and exhausting!
He is currently the Phoenix Players’ treasurer.
