Took my first bow with the Phoenix, Nov 2002 as Sergeant Connerly in Ray Cooney’s farce “It Runs in the Family” it was also my first time on the stage at the Theatre Royal as well. I have now been involved in every production since then with Ayckbourns “Confusions” at the Broardbent, “The Lion, Witch and Wardrobe” at the Lincoln Castle, “Cards on the Table” by Agatha Christie at the Theatre Royal, “Cash on Delivery” by Michael Cooney at the Broardbent, “Cinderella” in the Lincoln Castle, Office Party by John Godber, Broardbent Theatre,An Evening with Friends, Croft Street a series of one act Plays with Dinner, produced The Wizard of Oz at Lincoln Castle.
Not only do I enjoy being on stage but every aspect of the art, with other groups such as “Common Ground” “Wragby Players” “Hagon Happenings” and “Welton Pantomime Group” with set design and construction, sound, lighting, wardrobe and props, The set building on all productions is a challenge in it self, and “Noises Off” was the most challenging yet! With the complexity of the having to swing the set round and then back again during the intervals, needed to be as fluid as possible within the short time, was a logistical nightmare.
I adapted and directed my first play in Dec 04 at the Drill Hall, Lincoln with “Common Ground Theatre Company” “It’s a Wonderful Life” from the Frank Capra film of the same name, one of my all time favorite films and something I have wanted to do for a long time.
Something else I have wanted to do is TV and Film work and I got the chance when they shot the “Da Vinci Code” in Lincoln and I managed to get a part as MP at Isaac Newton’s Funeral. Since then I have done “Casualty” (BBC) “My Parents are Aliens” (Yorkshire TV) “The Simpson’s” advert (Sky TV) as well as quite a few student productions.
